SFMOMA Debuts Reimagined Fisher Collection at 10 with Inclusive Design by PAC

March 26, 2026

On April 18, 2026, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) will open Reimagined: The Fisher Collection at 10, a fully reconceived presentation of the Doris and Donald Fisher Collection. Spanning four floors and featuring nearly 250 works, the reinstallation marks the first complete transformation of the collection since 2016.

Developed through a cross-disciplinary collaboration at SFMOMA, the new galleries emphasize storytelling, personal connection, and accessibility—offering fresh perspectives on works by artists including Ellsworth Kelly, Agnes Martin, Gerhard Richter, and Andy Warhol, alongside rarely seen pieces and new installations.

SFMOMA partnered with PAC to help ensure the experience is inclusive and welcoming to all visitors. Accessibility features include tactile maps, visual artwork descriptions, touch objects, improved seating, and enhanced physical design for visitors using mobility devices. The museum will also introduce a new interactive Co-Lab space and a multimedia timeline exploring the history of the Fisher Collection. Reimagined: The Fisher Collection at 10 reflects a forward-looking approach to exhibition design—prioritizing inclusive storytelling and meaningful engagement for a broad range of audiences.
