Screen Reader Training Series

Our Screen Reader Training series equips your team with foundational knowledge of screen reader operation through a beginner-level series consisting of three 90-minute sessions. Each session is presented by experienced screen reader users who rely on these access technologies in their professional practice. The first session is designed for all attendees and explains why screen readers exist, what users accomplish with screen readers, how to begin using one, and the core interaction principles involved. The second and third sessions focus on using specific screen readers based on operating system, with the second session exploring common use cases in Windows with NVDA and JAWS, and the third session focusing on VoiceOver in macOS. Attendees can elect to attend the second session, the third session, or both, depending on which operating system they use.

Participants will leave equipped with a basic understanding of how screen readers operate and practical knowledge of common interaction patterns used by blind and low-vision users. This training is particularly valuable for design and development teams who need to understand how users navigate digital products using screen readers, and ensure that accessibility considerations are integrated into their work.
