PAC Presents on AI and Accessibility at LEAD 2025
PAC was honored to present at the 2025 Leadership Exchange in Arts & Disability (LEAD) Conference, where Principal Sina Bahram and Senior Inclusion Strategist Robin Marquis joined Jane Alexander, Chief Digital Information Officer at the Cleveland Museum of Art, for a dynamic session on the potential and limitations of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in generating visual descriptions at scale.
The session highlighted that while AI can expand access across collections and exhibitions, success relies on human oversight, staff engagement, and collaboration with the disabled community to ensure equitable, high-quality results. Best practices shared included training staff in description writing, creating sustainable workflows that balance automation with expertise, and adopting AI in ways that allow for ongoing refinement. The discussion reinforced that AI should serve as a supportive tool—not a replacement for human judgement—and that the most impactful solutions arise from combining technology with lived experience.
