PAC Presented at 2026 American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo
PAC was excited to contribute to an important conversation on sustainable accessibility in museums at the 2026 AAM Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo. PAC’s Maria Braswell and Robin Marquis presented alongside Vanessa Sanchez and Gustavo Herrera of the National Museum of Mexican Art, and Melanie Fales, Executive Director of the Boise Art Museum.
The session explored how two art museums have evolved from relying on individual accessibility champions to fostering organization-wide cultures of inclusive design. It highlighted the development of cross-departmental working groups, sustainable processes and protocols, and ongoing partnerships with disability communities—efforts that embed accessibility into institutional identity and values over time. As museums continue to evolve, the session underscored a critical shift: accessibility is not a one-time initiative, but a long-term commitment supported across all areas of an organization.
PAC valued the opportunity to connect with colleagues at AAM 2026 and contribute to advancing the conversation around lasting, systemic inclusion in cultural institutions.
