SFMOMA’s Reimagined: The Fisher Collection at 10 Featured in The New York Times

The New York Times recently spotlighted SFMOMA’s newly unveiled Reimagined: The Fisher Collection at 10, bringing national attention to the museum’s ambitious reinstallation of the renowned Doris and Donald Fisher Collection and its audience-centered approach to visitor engagement and interpretation. The feature highlights how SFMOMA transformed the presentation of nearly 250 works across four floors into a more dynamic and accessible experience—one that prioritizes storytelling, reflection, interaction, and multiple pathways into the art.

PAC was proud to support SFMOMA as an inclusive design partner on this important reimagining effort, helping shape experiences designed to welcome and engage a broad range of visitors. PAC’s work included tactile museum maps to support accessible wayfinding, visual descriptions for artworks throughout the galleries, touch objects that provide additional multisensory pathways into the collection, and physical design considerations—including seating and accessibility features—to support visitor comfort and navigation throughout the experience. Together, these elements help create richer, more flexible ways for audiences to connect with the collection.

Recognition from The New York Times reflects a broader shift across the museum field toward more inclusive and engaging interpretive experiences. Projects like Reimagined: The Fisher Collection at 10 demonstrate how thoughtful, visitor-centered design can deepen connection, foster engagement, and expand accessibility for diverse audiences.

Reimagined: The Fisher Collection at 10 opened at SFMOMA on April 18, 2026.
