PAC’s Microsoft Excel Accessibility Training provides your team with comprehensive guidance on creating accessible spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel through a focused 90-minute session. The training begins with an overview of important metadata settings, then progresses through essential accessibility practices including structuring, naming, and formatting information accessibly in sheets, using sheet indexes to enhance user experience in workbooks with multiple sheets, creating accessible links, and using color to convey information while adhering to color contrast guidelines. We focus on practical techniques that ensure spreadsheet data remains navigable and comprehensible for users of access technologies.
The session concludes with an in-depth review of accessible table creation, including instruction on defining names for row and column headers and setting appropriate initial user focus points to optimize screen reader navigation. Participants will leave equipped with actionable knowledge to immediately improve their spreadsheet creation workflows and ensure that organizational data, reports, and analytical documents are accessible to all users.
